Leo B. Scheller was born Feb. 3, 1920, in Hankinson, N.D. to John R. and Katherine (Gotterfried) Scheller.

He married Arlene Wurl May 4, 1943, in Hankinson, N.D. at St. Philip Catholic Church. In 1964 the couple moved to Minnesota due to his job with the Soo Line Railroad. They lived in northeast Minneapolis, Isanti, and for the past six years, Monticello.

He retired in 1972. He worked at the OsaWs Post Office. He was a member of the Long Prairie American Legion, Long Prairie Sportsmen Club trap shooting, American Heritage Hunting Club, Eagle Bend, Golden Eagle Trap Range, Alexandria, and the Minnesota Motorcycle Riders Association. 21, 1947, in St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Farming. He was a United States Army veteran of World War serving from June 14, 1942 to Sept. 5, 1945. He served in the 14th Armored Replacement Battalion.

He was stationed in Italy, Spain and North Africa and received a Purple Heart He owned and operated Silver's Oil Company. He drove school bus for the Albany School District for more than 30 years and was a member of the Catholic Aid Society, St. Catherine's parish, Frank Kray American Legion Post 455 of Cold Spring, and had served as the Farming Township Clerk from 1982 to 1994. He had also been a state fire warden for many years. He worked with Meals on Wheels for four years and was on the board of the Community Senior Center in Albany.
